[DNF = Did Not Finish]
**Please note: I never provide ratings or post full reviews of books on my DNF list because I don’t feel it’s fair, given I haven’t read the book in its entirety. I will, however, share my reasons for not continuing to read these books, in case that proves helpful for other readers. I was gifted the paperback version by my husband & finished reading on 28th June when I reached page 165. **No Rating – DNF**
DNF Reason(s): Despite its pink, cosy mystery-style cover (which was the reason my husband bought it for me), this book turned out to be more inclined towards horror/psychological territory, and I didn’t enjoy it at all. It triggered my emetophobia anxieties, so I couldn’t keep reading. I won’t ever pick this book up to read again, though it does look nice on my bookshelf!
I bought the hardcover version & finished reading on 19th November when I reached page 33. **No Rating – DNF**
DNF Reason(s): Too much exposition, not enough action. It felt like the author was trying so hard to develop characters that said characters felt two-dimensional due to there being pages of description without any ‘heart’ – I felt the characters weren’t relatable because the writing style keeps the reader at a distance. I might try reading this book again someday, though.
I bought the paperback version & finished reading in October when I reached page 35. **No Rating – DNF**
DNF Reason(s): Not enough romance. The references to sex were too overt for my taste, especially so early on in the story! I do, however, very much like the cover – so I’ll be keeping this book because it looks pretty on the shelf.
I bought the paperback version & finished reading in November when I reached page 85. **No Rating – DNF**
DNF Reason(s): Lots of equestrian references were incorrect, and the constant repetition of ‘said’ was too irritating to keep reading. In fact, I counted fifty occurrences of ‘said’ on one page! I’ve left the book on my shelf for now, though I don’t see myself picking it up again any time soon.
