My review:

I am giving this book a rating of 4 out of 5.

This book was gifted by my grandfather, who enjoys exploring mysteries as much as I do…

Since I hadn’t heard of lots of the stories included in this book, it was interesting to discover new cases I’d never encountered before (I listen to a lot of mystery-themed podcasts, largely for research for novels and short stories I’m writing).

The types of stories I enjoyed reading most were in the ‘Strange Disappearances’ (including a story about when Agatha Christie mysteriously went missing for eleven days!) and ‘Ghosts and Hauntings’ chapters.

There is a disclaimer at the beginning of the book to state that the stories within are for entertainment purposes only. However, as someone who likes to use different forms of research (e.g. books, internet, visiting locations, etc.), I think this book could be a really helpful resource. So, to enhance the book’s credibility as a resource, it’d benefit from including additional factual information from reliable sources – preferably covering further viewpoints that’d offer alternative explanations and perspectives. I also believe this book could’ve opened an opportunity for readers to explore topics and stories further by providing details about podcasts and/or non-fiction titles that delve into the specific unsolved mysteries shared in this book (although I do understand that those sorts of recommendations are likely to become outdated fairly quickly!).

All in all, I enjoyed this book so much that I read it in one day! So, I’d highly recommend Unsolved Mysteries to readers who like diving into mysterious stories and fascinating conspiracy theories that could lead them to question how they see the world today.
